I am feeling a bit sleepy as I write these articles, so I think I will do two more and then go hop in my bed for an hour nap.

I need to recharge my energy as we are going to be playing music tonight and I am the drummer and singer.

It takes a lot of energy to drum, especially at 55 years of age, and when you add singing on top of that it can be pretty exhausting after a couple of hours. The new contractor in town is going to meet us later once he is done doing his heat pump service job. Anyway, taking a nap really helps to restore my energy and helps to propel me through the jam sessions. I would like to ask the HVAC tech about some energy saving tips when I go to the HVAC business last week because I would like to trim our power bills down even more if possible. That way I can use the extra money to fuel my band with some online advertising and signs for when we play out on the streets and in bars. I think getting a geo heat pump for the winters would help a lot, and as far as the summer’s go, well I have a mini split a/c unit that cools down my bedroom really nicely at night. I try to keep the house moderate during the summer as I spend a lot of time at the beach and don’t need to cool the house down when I am not at home.

We haven’t had power for a few hours and the laptop I am working on is down to 30% power left.

It should be enough to get my work done but I hope the power comes on soon so all of our food in the fridge doesn’t spoil. I just went shopping yesterday and bought a bunch of food, but luckily most of it is fruit and veggies, which will last for a few days even without a fridge to keep them cool. I also have kefir in the fridge, but that can go a while too without refrigeration. My HVAC system isn’t going to do me much good though, as it stopped heating up my flat as soon as the power went bye bye. I just need to keep the door of the fridge closed and the cold will stay in for quite a while. The local contractor will be out soon to look at our power and hopefully the HVAC system will still be working once they restore the electricity in our building. The place next to us is having work done and I am sure that some bozo cut a power line and doesn’t even realize that he did it. I feel sorry for the people next door because without heating their little baby is going to be cold. We will have power soon though and all will be well once again for everyone in my building. I have a fireplace to keep warm, so if it comes down to it we really don’t need a heating and cooling system to keep warm.

I didn’t think how the bat got into the house, even though I knew it had to go, however the apparent conclusion was that it had somehow gotten into the air duct & come out in our family room.

The bat was on the wall right about the air vent! I called our sibling & asked him if he could get the bat out of our house.

He laughed while asking why I was afraid of a little bat. The last time I tried to get a bat out of our house, I destroyed our sweeper. The exhausting thing was trapped in the sweeper hose, where he died. I threw the sweeper away & refused to ever use another vacuum cleaner again, then my fear was that if that bat got into the house, there could be an entire bat colony waiting to come in while in the evening. Maybe this bat was the lookout, searching out a modern place to sleep. I had all kinds of unusual thoughts going through our mind… When the HVAC worker arrived, he looked through the apartment to check the air duct. When he got to the attic, he came out & told me I had to call an exterminator. The walls were crawling with bats, & they carried a lot of diseases. There were holes in the air duct, & a bat could fit in a hole that was the size of dime. He advocated that once the exterminator came in, I should have the air duct repaired, cleaned & sanitized. I should also have our attic cleaned & sanitized by a group of professional cleaners the exterminators could point me to.

Sitting on my chair in my office at my Heating as well as A/C business waiting for my brother to step in it, but i have been kicking around the proposal for the last few weeks about us investing some of our earnings in acquiring a van for our Heating as well as A/C dealer.
