My mom is a trooper.

When dad passed away, she stood up and made sure the family was okay.

Not once did we miss anything we wanted, and mom was always there for us when we needed her. She is the best woman, and I believe there is very little that she can’t conquer. I remember once we had a dance recital and she had to work, mom made sure she was there, even though she arrived a bit late. She says she would move heaven and earth to make sure my brother and I are good. Given how great our lives have been, I believe her. When my brother graduated high school, he wasn’t sure he wanted to spend 4 years in university. So, he told mom he wanted to go to trade school and train to become a HVAC professional. Mom was a bit concerned about my brother wanting to become a HVAC professional. She hoped he’d pick something else, but my brother’s mind was made up. Our dad had been a HVAC professional before he passed away, and my brother has always wanted to be like him. Besides, he’d done his research and realized that HVAC professionals have a lasting career, and the earnings are just as great. Eventually, mom accepted my brother’s decision, and supported him through school. Now, he is one of the best HVAC professionals in the HVAC company he works for, and has a thriving career. Not once has he regretted being part of the HVAC industry, and following his dream. The HVAC industry is one of the few that offers lots of job security.

HVAC workers are important since they serve a great purpose in many homes. Were it not for the dedicated work of HVAC workers, most of us would have issues with HVAC systems. They come into our home, do inspections and recommend the best heating and cooling units to use. And they always ensure they consider our budgets, and needs before making a final decision. After installation, the same HVAC workers come back to do HVAC maintenance and repair if there are any faults that emerge. That is how we end up using the same HVAC system for more than a decade without needing a replacement. An HVAC worker does the diagnosis and repair before things get out of hand. They even provide 24/7 emergency repairs, and can come to our homes no matter how hot or cold it is outside. This is why I will always have a profound respect for all HVAC workers. I’ve seen my dad work through harsh conditions to make sure his customers felt well served. He’d brave frigid temperatures to fix furnaces, and summer storms to work on ACs. And he is the reason I am also in training to get my HVAC certification and work as a HVAC worker soon. Mom would have wanted for me to pick another career, but I want to go into the HVAC industry. My dad is a huge inspiration, and I guess all those years of accompanying him on the job have rubbed off on me. There was a time he’d pay me to hold his tools and do minor bookkeeping. Now, he has a thriving HVAC business and I am so proud of him.

Both of us had a 3-pound mouse our father had bought for us when the people I was with and I were little! When the people I was with and I moved out of the house, my father told us one of us had to take the mouse with them.

He wasn’t the owner of the rat, and he would not care for it when the people I was with and I left, i didn’t want the rat, and neither did my sibling; My father handed us the cage and said to duke it out. I took the mouse into the basement where he ran around freely and left him there. He had his own play area that was enclosed with a wood fence… A week later, Mom called, and he was furious. He had the Heating plus A/C serviceman at the house, and the guy nearly had a heart attack. I asked what that had to do with my sibling and I… Mom wanted to suppose where the mouse was? I told him I had put him in his play area and I would chance him up in a week or so, that’s when he told me the Heating plus A/C tech found our pet rat. It had chewed through the fence, and it jumped down on the Heating plus A/C serviceman when he was trying to service the furnace. The Heating plus A/C serviceman jumped up and hit his head on the ductwork. He threw the mouse from his shoulder and it ran over and bit the Heating plus A/C tech on the leg. The unbelievable area is that the Heating plus A/C serviceman will be fine, but he would be in the hospital overnight… Since the mouse bit the Heating plus A/C serviceman, he would be captured and maintained for rabies.

I know it seems sappy, however I was so in appreciate with my bestie that I would do anything for her.

It offended myself and others when my Heating and A/C educator pulled myself and others aside.

I wanted to be an Heating and A/C specialist. He looked at myself and others appreciate he didn’t feel it was a wise choice, however he told myself and others to go back to class. After that chat, I worked harder than any other student, and was at the top of the class. When it came time to go to Heating and A/C certification classes, I knew I was just as good an Heating and A/C specialist as any man in that class. It was hard getting into Heating and A/C when you were a woman, however it was even harder forty years ago when I went to Heating and A/C university. My father had trained me, and I knew what I was doing, however since I was a woman, I had to go to university and prove myself. Most men didn’t have their Heating and A/C certification back then, although I had to have it. I was sexually harassed, and they tried to make myself and others look bad, and none of that would happen now, because harassment wasn’t illegal back then. Women were just getting their voice, however there were some jobs considered inappropriate for women, and Heating and A/C was in that class. Now, a person can do anything job they want, and most women can do it just and men. I was 1 of those who was just as good as my colleagues and better than some. Thanks to my father’s help, I not only moved ahead in the Heating and A/C dealer, although I owned the first woman-owned Heating and A/C business in our area.
