I regularly had dreams when I was a little child.

I’d want to be an astronaut, race car driver, or even a hockey player. Those dreams always changed as I became older plus I occasionally will dress the part for Halloween. I lived out those small dreams as a little kid for the longest time plus those were just a couple of minor examples. When I hit my teenage years my parents eventually got a window air conditioning device plus it felt wonderful but only the home office did. Sleeping in the evening hours in my home office in the middle of summer time didn’t easily feel the greatest plus there were times I didn’t sleep in the least. I remember my first time learning about central air conditioning. I went to my associate Steve’s parent’s household plus it felt beautiful. I would spend numerous days doing sleepovers plus from that point on, my dream would be to one day have central air conditioning in my undoubtedly own household. I purchased my first house at the age of 24 plus the house I purchased didn’t have central air conditioning. Instead of buying new furniture, a TV, you know, other important items such as silverware, I reached out to the local Heating and A/C contractor. That day I arranged for an appointment for a Heating and A/C tech to come to my household later that week to have central air conditioning installed. Those first few days living in the household weren’t too bad though as the warm season basically was just starting to kick off, but I knew I needed the comfort to have a great hot season. I mean, I love the heat when I’m outside doing things but I genuinely want my household to feel nice plus cool when I’m there.

Recently my electric boiler broke down plus thankfully I had this portable space furnace my dad got me several years ago for situations such as this.

The warm season was pretty hot but one or two days the temperatures dropped for some unknown reason plus I needed to turn my thermostat on to heat my household.

Well, that day didn’t go well for my electric boiler, or actually, it could be whatever broke down. It’s summertime so I don’t know whatever happened to easily affect me. I just know those two days I brought out my portable space furnace from the garage plus clogged it in for warmth. It felt pretty nice but the awful thing is that my dog Elsa wouldn’t choose to leave it alone. She would kneel on it for warmth those two days plus acted like it was hers, plus hers alone. I had the desire to transfer it from one room to another even though she had complications with that. She would growl, then lick her lips plus slowly shut her eyes to fall back to sleep! Elsa even swatted at me a few times, this is ridiculous. Two days of a chilly home office but the home office felt great so I slept in there. I didn’t want to have a Heating and A/C tech come to my household as it’s June plus there are still a couple of months until the chilly weather comes but I did schedule one to come at the end of June. I was thinking that would be a good time plus the weather should still be lovely for another month or two. Elsa, on the other hand, needs some manners!

Doctor Sandra is a fantastic healthcare worker who has a great personality. She certainly knows her stuff plus she can figure out what is happening with you plus prescribe the respected amount of medication one would need within minutes, but people love her plus get frustrated if she is on vacation or sick. Some people will even reschedule their appointment to make sure they have her as a healthcare worker. I feel that is a bit silly because if you are sick, don’t you know you should see a healthcare worker so it doesn’t actually become worse? The thing about the Doc is that she thoroughly enjoys her central air conditioning, however we, the other doctors can’t really deal with it plus yes, it gets pretty chilly in the building at times, however the air quality isn’t the finest at times but my pal and I suffer through it because my pal and I see all the blissful faces that get to see her on their visits. I’m just blissful that she has a great personality plus is undoubtedly understanding. To be perfectly fair, outside of the central air conditioning she is understanding but will draw the line if someone makes an attempt at turning it off. On top of that, I don’t know if our healthcare worker’s office would be open if my pal and I didn’t have her to be honest. She stands out that much for people plus it’s necessary for me plus the other doctors that we need to have a job. I just know on days she isn’t here, the thermostat settings are totally changed plus my pal and I get a little break. Anytime Doctor Sandra lets us know that she might take a day off, my pal and I push for her to take the day off.

Whenever I meet folks who have just moved down here, I always like to be welcoming.

This is the way I was raised and is part of our culture.

So welcoming new comers is just something that has always felt right. I’m from here and understand the differences in culture and the difficulties of the climate. Plus, I once moved up north for my job and spent three years up there. While I never got accustomed to having a gas furnace or being stuck inside all Winter, I sure loved the Summers up there. They were the best ever. That’s so not the case here. Sure, we have some of the most amazing weather for 8 months of the year. But the Summer months certainly do test even a native of the area. That’s why I do my very best to help those who are new to these levels of heat and humidity. I’m not one to just go around mansplaining and giving unasked for advice. But when it comes to newbies and the air conditioning, I look for my openings. The best advice for new comers is that less is actually more when it comes to air conditioning. Too often, people new to the region go headlong into cooling comfort from the heat pump too early. So I always suggest only using the air conditioning in spot during the Spring and let your body get used to the heat. That makes the serious heat of Summer less overwhelming and you want just detonate you monthly household budget either. Some folks listen, some folks don’t. And I’ve even seen some folks do a Summer stuck inside the central air conditioning only to hightail it back up north.

I’ve never really understood why my in laws have always come for such long visits.

It’s not as though they live an ocean away or anything.

Sure, it’s a day long car ride. But they also get to come down here when it’s freezing where they live and the gas furnace is running non stop. But these folks always come for like 2, 3 and even 4 weeks at a time. I just have never gotten that. Talk about overstaying your welcome. Even my wife and kids are so relieved when they finally go home. In the Summer, it’s even worse because we’re all stuck inside the central air conditioning of the house due to the heat outside. But now that we’ve moved to our new place, the overstaying may not stop but the effect it has on our lives sure will. We are fortunate enough to have been successful in our careers. And we’ve recently moved into a new place and it came with a guest cottage. The main house was ready to be lived in but the guest cottage needed some help. I took care of replacing the furnishings, painting and getting new carpet put down. But I turned to the HVAC professionals for the help I needed when it came to providing some cooling comfort in this space. That was the last thing the guest cottage needed. And wow, were the ductless heat pumps ever the cherry on top for that project. I’m so pleased with the great quality heating and air inside our guest cottage. I’m also going to be quite pleased to leave my in laws on their own out there during their marathon visits. I’ll be enjoying the privacy and HVAC technology of the main house.

Just a month or so ago, I took the protective shell off of the HVAC equipment alongside the house.

This is something that I put on the HVAC unit outside to protect it through our harsh Winter. This shell keeps the weight of snow and ice from hurting the fan and other parts. When I remove that cover, it’s usually the mark of Spring because I’ll be calling the HVAC professionals just after. I call to have them come out and do the air conditioning tune up. Not that we really have that much air conditioning demand. But we spent some dough on that heat pump and I’ll be danged if I’m not taking good care of it. Actually, we added the heat pump to the central air conditioning because my wife really wanted it. The older we’ve gotten, the less she is getting around the way she once did. So she’s quite often inside the house when it’s stuffy and warm in there. If air conditioning is what she wanted, that’s what she got. Truthfully, I find the air conditioning a big bonus at times. I’m already starting the process of cutting heating costs even though it’s almost June. The gas furnace is off but I also have a wood stove for supplemental heating. Using this heating source sure saves us a ton of money given how long and cold our Winters can be. But that also means that I have to start now with the cutting, splitting and stacking of all that firewood. So come about mid July after I finish with a morning of that, it’s sure nice to be inside the air conditioning.

I sort of feel a bit weird and wrong when it comes to my secret spot.

This spot is mine and mine alone.

When you have a houseful of kids, you need a spot to call your own. And when my husband comes home from his day inside zone controlled HVAC in his office, I slip out to my own HVAC comfort in my secret spot. I love being a mom and working part time. We have an awesome house with a pool, the latest in HVAC technology and all the other amenities. But what I don’t have much of is privacy. And that’s sort of weird for me considering the fact that I’m a quiet, thoughtful and private person. So once we had all these kids, I really had to make it a point of balancing out all this commotion with some quiet. That’s when I sort of made this spot down in the basement. There is this weird closet down there that had to have been a cellar pantry or something. It’s good sized with a door and a light and an outlet. This was good enough for me as I took over this space with a few floor pillows, mellow lighting and candlelight. I’d put on my headphones and just sit in the stillness and breathe. But now, I have an HVAC upgrade to the spot. I stealthily had an HVAC technician install a ductless heat pump inside my quiet place. And oh wow, what a difference this makes. There is no HVAC air duct in that space nor any air ducts at all in the basement. So having some quality heating and air has been quite remarkable.
