He gets to meet many cool people when he is out in the field and it takes away from the monotony of working each morning in the same arena

It’s 1.15 in the afternoon now and Benard is rounding fifth base with his work for the day. It’s going to be a fun weekend with lots of parties going on. Benard’s life has kind of become one long quest for partying and playing music. He knows this is a fantastic life right? The older he gets the more he realizes that playing and doing something you enjoy is the key to success in life. Benard works at the heating and AC business each week for money doing heating and cooling repairs and focuses on fun mainly after work. You still have to earn a living, but if you can do so with a minimal amount of fret then you have more time and energy to do things that bring you joy. Benard knows doing air duct cleaning is actually his favorite job at the local business because he gets to leave the office for a while and go into people’s homes to work. He gets to meet many cool people when he is out in the field and it takes away from the monotony of working each morning in the same arena. His heating and AC rep boss is nice and lets him work there whatever hours he wants each week, which is usually around the 20 hour mark so that he has time to play and have fun. Benard will go soon to the store and get some food and then he is going to get his yoga done and head off to the beach for a party.

We are getting down to the nitty gritty soon with our work and then we will take a little break. We have about an hour of cleaning to do before Monday comes and our friend arrives. We can knock it out Monday morning if we need to, as long as we get our shopping done this weekend it will all be alright. This week is a bit busier than normal in this town as there is a concert this weekend and many people are in town for it. Our bandmate wants to play for this local business later but we think the concert will drown out our music and it is better to wait. We haven’t played in a week and we are sure she is getting antsy to play, but we also have a beach party tonight with our volleyball friends and don’t want to miss it. These are our two hobbies that are typically vying for our time, along with our heating and AC expert job working for the local heating and AC contractor. That is pretty much the extent of our lives these mornings, which is fantastic with us because it is a pretty fun life to be leading for someone who is almost 58 years old. A lot of our friends run their local dealers and don’t have time to do anything like we are doing, which makes us even more grateful for having our part time job at the heating and AC jobs. We have so much free time to put towards music and athletic hobbies and it is keeping us young at heart.

I’m going to spend the whole day inside to avoid drinking beer today.

I will do my work online and then the rest of the day is going to be on the yoga mat or on the meditation cushion in the living room.

My flatmate is gone and I am doing a self imposed dry dock from drinking beer today, especially after how many I had last night. Drinking five beers in a night probably doesn’t seem like a lot, but I drink two each day and don’t like when I go over that limit. So today will be air conditioned confinement for me all day, as it is really hot outside and to stay in the flat all day is going to require some good climate control. I may invite my friend over to hang out later, but I am going to ask her not to bring any beer! We can have a quiet evening in front of the fireplace while sipping tea, but drinking beer is a no go all night tonight for me. I am fine with staying home for the whole day because it is really crowded out there this weekend with the big music festival going on. I may hit this local business to get some produce and then come home to my air con system and cats. I have a guest coming in two days and want to also get the house cleaned so that she doesn’t think I am a slob. I will clean the washable HEPA filter later and we will be all set to go.

Nine more stories to write for the day, which means about another hour and a half of work and then I am done for the day.

• I still have to do some other work online, but I am going to spend most of the day in quiet contemplation and meditation.

I saw a video of me on the beach yesterday and I have aged a lot in the past few years, which tells me that I need to slow it down a bit so I can last a bit longer. I always thought I’d live to 90 like the HEPA filter worker did, but the way that I am aging I don’t know if I am going to make it that far. I guess it really doesn’t matter in the end as long as you are enjoying the ride for the most part. I’ve had a rough two or so years, losing most of my HVAC system work savings, but now it looks like it could bounce back in the next couple of years. I’ve lost a lot of things recently, my dad being the most difficult one to get over. I lost the love of my life, one which is gone forever now, and all of that $100K that I saved so diligently over the years. But I still have my job at the cooling corp and that is a lifesaver. I have income from some work I do in the States and that covers my food each month, along with some other a/c repair jobs here and there for the local contractor.

 

More about heating

I’ve put a lot of miles on my body in my 56 years, and now it looks like it is catching up to me.

I need new teeth, knees, and shoulders to get my body back to what it was a few years ago.

I could also use a new elbow with the tennis elbow I’ve been having for more than ten years. I think it would cost me about $120K to get all of that work done, which means I will have to do with the old worn out parts I have now because that’s too much cash. The local supplier has a lot of work for me at the HVAC business, but there is no way I could save that kind of money to get all of the work done. I think I can fix my shoulders with some rehab, and maybe even the same for my knees, but my teeth may need to be replaced. I have to wait for my HVAC technology stock to mature before I can get my teeth done, but I think the cooling corp stock will blossom in the next two or three years. I will get them all capped probably and work on my shoulders and knees in the meantime to save me that cash from having to get them replaced or repaired. I may need to visit the local contractor and see who she had her teeth done with and get a price for them just so I know. I can work a bit more doing my HVAC tech work and save a bit that way.

Today is a big day with the changing of the litter box.

• I think I am going to try and train my cats to go to the toilet over the next few months.

They have a kit you can buy and it will train any cat to use the toilet after a few months so you can avoid the litter altogether. This is my plan because I don’t like going through all of the fuss each day with cleaning up after my two cats, who both seem to pee way more than the amount of water they drink daily. Heating and cooling system repairs will be on the agenda next week as we start this new HVAC job for a customer. Today is Saturday though and I need to get ready for my guest who is coming in two more days. She is a cooling tech and is staying for a day or so before she heads off to this dance competition in another town for a week. I haven’t seen her in maybe two or so years, ever since my ex and I broke up. We all worked for this local contractor back in the day, and even though my ex and I broke up, I stayed friends with her because we have great talks and get along well. I have an air conditioned guest room that she will be staying in and I just need to clean it up a bit before she arrives on Monday. We will talk about the industry a bit and maybe cook dinner and eat together before she cuts out the next morning.

I had a few too many beers last night I think. I’m doing the math in my mind and I think I had five total from when I got to the beach to when I ended up getting home around midnight. I guess it could have been worse, but I normally try to keep it under two beers to save my liver and kidneys. Last night was a big music festival and birthday party and things got a bit out of hand with the beer drinking. Today I will drink a ton of lemon water and sit in air conditioned comfort while I let my body recover. This town is not an easy town to quit drinking, considering everywhere you go there is someone popping the top off of a can of Estrella. The local contractor always has cold beer at work for the workers when they quit for the day, so even going to work as an HVAC tech isn’t a safe haven from drinking. I guess I need to move to a buddhist monastery for a while to curb the drinking, but I am not sure that is going to happen anytime soon. I have to write about heating and cooling equipment today at home and plan on taking my time getting the HVAC technology work done as I have no commitments till 6pm tonight when we play some ball on the beach. My climate control system for my office is basically a small fan for now, as the temps are still low enough not to warrant my mini split a/c system.
