I really missed our local Heating as well as A/C service tech when he left town.

I didn’t know why he moved, but pretty much everyone on our street wanted to know what happened.

My best pal Cal and I soon found out he got married and moved near to where her family lived. It has now been about three years, and Cal and I heard he had returned. There were several swings that included having 2 little girls, and he was now the owner of a local Heating as well as A/C corporation. Cal thought it was great to have some competition for our only Heating as well as A/C team up until now. When Cal commanded that I call the new Heating as well as A/C business and ask them to repair our air conditioning unit, I was surprised. Cal said it may be a great thing to check out the new corporation. I thought it would be a lot easier to go online and see if they had a website, even though he balked. Cal didn’t assume a website could tell you who the owner was, or what kind of repair they would give. I still went online to look for Heating as well as A/C companies near me. I found the website for our most current Heating as well as A/C business and a website for the brand new one. The difference in their websites was like night and afternoon. I knew who the owners were, and I had an idea of what kind of business he ran. I felt safe calling them and placing my Heating as well as A/C equipment in their hands. Cal still wasn’t convinced I could be so sure of the efficacy of the Heating as well as A/C business through a simple website, even though he knew the Heating as well as A/C service tech before he was an owner. That was enough for him.

I thought the Heating as well as A/C service tech was kidding when he introduced himself.

He looked new to me, and I didn’t remember seeing him around.

I asked him if he had recently moved to town? When he told me he came from Mars, I didn’t know what to say exactly. I invited him in and showed him where the broken air conditioner was. It didn’t take too long for him to get to work and get the air conditioning equipment repaired. I was laughing when he came back in and asked if he was drastic about moving from Mars, and he said “yes.” I couldn’t imagine why a Martian would come out with this kind of news. I paid him quickly and couldn’t wait for him to leave. When my partner Cal got home, I was in a tizzy. I told him our Heating as well as A/C service tech told me he had just come from Mars. Cal didn’t assume there was anything wrong with this, and he shrugged and walked off. My mind was going in so several unusual directions, I didn’t know what to do. I called my best neighbor and asked if she had met the new Heating as well as A/C service tech? She admitted she had and said there was something unusual about him, but she thought it was because he was new to town. When I told her he told me he was from Mars, she simply blew it off. I was laughing at myself when I realized Mars was a city in PA. It isn’t like anyone had forced me to be an Heating as well as A/C service tech, although I wanted to be one. Once I had finished high university, I signed up for Heating as well as A/C class at the local community university. I was happy to begin my classes, although I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was wondering how I was going to get through these introductions separate from anyone knowing I was related to these two guys. I also wondered about several of my classmates and they assumed I would get special treatment.

My little sibling Kim is a real jerk.

• Kim thinks it’s fun to watch someone make a fool of themselves, then last week, the Heating as well as A/C service tech was at the house laboring on our air conditioning unit.

Kim took a seasoned dog whistle outside and was playing with it. Kim and I hadn’t had a dog since the last one died more than a year ago. Kim wanted to see if the Heating as well as A/C service tech would use the dog whistle in an effort to see if he could fix it. I never realized there was a weigh station on the stretch of road I was on.

It shocked and surprised me when I first saw the sign that said all vans and trucks must go into the weigh station.

I knew I was an idiot to pull in, although I was obeying the law. When I drove up on the scales, the irritated police officer inside told me to pull over. I pulled off the scales, expecting to get a moving violation, but not knowing why. He came up to the door and asked for my license and the van registration. I told him I worked for the Heating as well as A/C business and the repair vehicle belonged to the Heating as well as A/C business I worked for. He nodded and said he could see all of that. He asked me if I knew my driver’s license had recently expired? He also told me the registration for the Heating as well as A/C repair van had also recently expired. I thought he was joking because he found it funny that I would pull an AC repair van into the weigh station unless I was there to work on a truck. As far as I was aware, I was heading to a house to work on an air conditioning unit. The cop told me to take care of my license and registration and make sure the current information was reported back to the address and iphone number on the warning. I called the boss at work as soon as I got to the house, and told him he needed to get the registration replaced for the Heating as well as A/C repair van because I had just gotten a warning.

Although I am supposed to be a great driver, if you look at my driving record I’m not.

I am also supposed to be a terrific Heating as well as A/C service tech, but when you crash the Heating as well as A/C repair van, you need to expect to be let go.

I looked away from the road for about 12 seconds, which is all it took me to check a text from my partner Sven. I knew I shouldn’t have looked at it, although I thought there was a problem. Sven never text messaged me unless it was an emergency. When I realized it was butt text, I switched off the iphone, but it was too late. I had already driven the repair van into the rear of a garbage truck. I immediately called my boss and told him the Heating as well as A/C repair truck was covered in garbage and told him where I was; He didn’t ask what happened, but was immediately heading over to the location. I got out of the repair van, and the garbage guy came running over from the truck, but before I could apologize, he was already apologizing. He told me how he had stopped abruptly, and he didn’t realize I was driving behind him. He asked if I was damaged and then checked the Heating as well as the A/C repair van. I thought I was going to be fired and could never be an Heating as well as A/C service tech again, even though he was even more upset. He owned the garbage truck. I could only laugh to myself when he said he stopped abruptly because his iphone rang. I wasn’t sure who was at fault, although I wasn’t going to say 1 word about my text.

I don’t usually repair my air conditioning unit, although this time I was short on currency! I had been putting in so many extra hours at work to help with what my partner Max used to earn! After having the baby, Max decided she wasn’t going back to work, and Max and I had no one to babysit, and the baby had to be at least six months seasoned before any daycare center would take her in; The cost was almost as much as Max would make if she had to work only the hours that the care center would take care of the baby.

I am now laboring anywhere from sixty to seventy hours each week, and I am dead tired.

I am cutting back on expenses by handling the small chores on my own, however one of these chores I took on is cleaning the old air conditioning unit. The Heating as well as A/C business has a do-it-yourself section on their website, and it gives steps on how to do the service. I had the air filter in hand, ready to change it, and I woke up with it still in my hand, and I was laying flat on the ground. Max hadn’t called me in, and said she thought I was napping in the lounge chair. I had fallen asleep with the air filter in hand, while doing repair on the air conditioning, and Max thought I was okay. I learned one important lesson from this whole thing, and it wasn’t that Max didn’t care as much for me as I thought she did, but you don’t work through the night and go outside in the heat of the sunlight to labor on the air conditioning unit.
