My dining room needs to have some genre of heating system.

The distance is just too great. The dining room also has a bunch of windows that just seem to let in frigid air. I have caulked plus added insulation, it doesn’t fix it. What was great is that I was able to save some money on the heating upgrade myself. I purchased the electric heated mats at the hardware store plus did the upgrade all on our own.
