Cargo van needs two heaters

I’ve constantly been a substantial fan of road trips.

I know that they aren’t for everyone – a lot of people say that they can’t rest in the motorcar for that long of a time and they get restless.

I don’t usually feel that way. I can truly settle into a drive and rest comfortably for up to 12 hours at once. It’s no problem to stare off at the scenery and let my mind meander gently from topic to topic as the hours fly by. One of the largest recommendations I can provide to anyone who normally feels tortured by long road trips is to invest in a van. Having enough space is essential for comfort. Recently, my buddy and I even rented a substantial cargo van for one of our trips. This thing was amazing! It drove like a dream and my buddy and I had so much room for our belongings. The one negative of having so much space was trying to maintain the correct air quality within the cab. As my buddy and I drove on our long trip, the outdoor air harshly changed from a moderate and humid air quality to a dry and bitterly cold temperature. The van wasn’t exactly equipped to combat the brutally cold and blustery air outside, it turns out… Even with the onboard boiler blasting at full power, my buddy and I noticed that the air temperature fluctuated wildly from hot to cold. The boiler seemed like it could not maintain a high level of heat or air flow. It also felt like the cold air from outside was truly permeating the uninsulated metal walls, chilling the van from all sides. Thank god my buddy and I know enough as expert travelers to keep extra blankets on board. I don’t know the van’s boiler could survive our heating demands.

I’ve consistently been a large fan of road trips.

I know that they aren’t for everyone – a lot of people say that they can’t sit in the automobile for that long of a time as well as they get restless.

I don’t usually feel that way. I can genuinely settle into a drive as well as sit comfortably for up to 12 hours at once. It’s no problem to stare off at the scenery as well as let my mind wander gently from topic to topic as the hours fly by. One of the largest recommendations I can provide to anyone who normally feels tortured by long road trips is to invest in a van. Having enough space is essential for comfort. Recently, my buddy and I even rented a immense cargo van for one of our trips. This thing was amazing! It drove like a dream as well as my buddy and I had so much room for our belongings. The one disadvantage of having so much space was trying to maintain the proper air quality within the cab. As my buddy and I drove on our long trip, the outdoor air seriously changed from a sizzling as well as humid air quality to a dry as well as bitterly chilly climate. The van wasn’t exactly equipped to combat the brutally chilly as well as blustery air outside, it turns out; Even with the onboard furnace blasting at full power, my buddy and I noticed that the air temperature fluctuated wildly from sizzling to cold. The furnace seemed like it could not maintain a high level of heat or air flow. It also felt like the chilly air from outside was genuinely permeating the uninsulated metal walls, chilling the van from all sides. Bad room setup – AC is chilly me

I hate to be the sort of person who complains during my times of need. However, I cannot get over how poorly this room was designed at the local ladies’s shelter. You see, about a month ago I had to leave my loft because the living situation was becoming too dramatic with my boyfriend. I went to a local ladies’s shelter plus they assigned me a room to stay in for the next few weeks. I was expecting the shelter to be in deplorable condition, truthfully. I was ready for a sleepless night of heat plus humidity, because I anticipated that the facility had a 30 year old AC unit. I even brought my own miniature fan to provide some sort of air movement in the assumedly sweltering room. When I arrived, but, I found that my worries were unfounded. Not only was the entire shelter beautifully air conditioned, but my room was really a bit too chilly when I walked in. The AC was flowing nicely from an overhead air vent, plus I was shocked to feel all the cool air flowing over me. The thing is, there’s really too much AC for my preference, and because of the locationment of the air vent overhead, I can’t escape from the frosty drafty breeze no matter where I kneel in the room. Here I am, chilly my butt off in the middle of July in the deep south. I don’t foresee this being a comfortable stay at the shelter for long. Of course I didn’t guess to pack my winter time coat or flannel pajamas when I left.

Hotel rooms spike in winter time – cost of heat

When my buddy and I were arranging a trip to Montreal, my buddy and I sure never expected that there would be major consequences for going in the winter, and i mean, my buddy and I expected some uncomfortable consequences, such as freezing our butts off outdoors every afternoon, then my associate and I weren’t expecting balmy weather or anything. My associate and I realized that the weather might be stormy and icy, what my buddy and I never anticipated, however, was the option that it would be more pricey to go in the winter. Who would want to go during the darkest, coldest months of the year, afterall? Well, no one! And that’s partially because the cost of staying in the neighborhood skyrockets as the temperature plummets. When my buddy and I started looking at hotels, the prices seemed rather high compared to other cities and the figures my buddy and I had seen in Montreal before. I wasn’t’ sure if there was a major concert or festival happening that might drive up the interest in renting a hotel room, however in fact, it was nothing of the sort, but the substantial increase in price was due really to the low winter time hot and cold temperatures… because the hotel has to compensate for the cost of heating. Apparently they don’t get great deals from the energy business and have to worry about their clients using too much heat in their facilities. If there is a ton of heat pumping into every room, the hotel’s bills increase substantially until the air temperature evens out again. I didn’t understand how it could be such a significant energy expense for them… until I arrived and realized how cold it was. I truly abused the boiler in our hotel room, running it at maximum speed and heating power. Thank god it was already included in the price of the room.

Placebo effect

My husband has quite the family.

His parents are literal rocket scientists and his sister is going to school for neurology.

He, on the other hand, is a percussion professor. As you might imagine, there are some tense family relations at times. His sister is a bit of a goody two shoes, and she always gets all of the attention of her parents. It doesn’t help matters that she’s also quite skilled at complaining, no matter the circumstances. She claims she’s just “sensitive” and “particular,” but it seems like a lot of nonsense to me. We decided to test our theory recently, leveraging our own HVAC system to challenge her complaining skills. His family was set to visit us for the weekend, so as always I was scrambling to clean up the house and make it as comfortable as possible. Of course, this included adjusting the thermostat to the perfect temperature settings in order to maximize our indoor comfort levels. I even had the air conditioner fully serviced by a pro HVAC shop the week leading up to the visit, so we would have the highest quality air possible. We knew, however, that it wouldn’t matter how carefully we set the thermostat or serviced the HVAC system, because she was going to say something. Sure enough, she made it about 15 minutes into the visit before the big scene. She came downstairs, wrapped in ten pounds of clothing, shivering hysterically, and rubbing her hands together. She then claimed to be suffering an extreme hypohemia attack, and asked if the thermostat could be adjusted higher. Of course, I said lovingly, and pretended to change the thermostat settings without altering a thing. Sure enough, within two minutes, she acknowledged the warmer temperature and settled down again…. Until it was too hot.

Always know when boyfriend gets home

I hate the way that so many couples have no trust in their relationships.

I realize how difficult it is in this day and age, but I feel like there’s no use in being with someone if you can’t turn around without expecting the worst.

That’s why my boyfriend and I try our best to give each other the benefit of the doubt and stay out of each other’s business. We don’t go through each other’s phones, we never question who the other person is going out with, and we don’t dig through one another’s social media accounts. That being said, there is one check that I have on my boyfriend, thanks to our smart thermostat. You see, my boyfriend has an interesting habit whenever he gets home. He loves to go over and check the thermostat immediately upon entering the house. For one thing, he wants to set the thermostat to the ideal temperature based on his current temperature needs and the air condition outside. Secondly, he is a bit paranoid and likes to make sure the whole HVAC system has been working properly during his absence. Both of these factors, coupled with his anxiety, mean he will always adjust the indoor temperature control device within 2 minutes of getting to the house. How does this help me, you ask? Well, we have a smart thermostat installed at home for the heating and cooling system. Unbeknownst to him, I have programmed the thermostat to send me push notifications every time the temperature settings are adjusted. Thanks to the smart thermostat, I always know exactly when he’s getting home and how distracted he is, even if I’m hundreds of miles away.
