The detail job looked really good

My girlfriend was driving my car last summer when she got caught in a flash flood.

Even though she could not see the bottom of the puddle, she still decided to drive through.

The car ended up in 3 ft of mud. After the tow truck driver fished the car out of the mud, he suggested having the vehicle detailed. I contacted the insurance company and I found out that they would pay for some of the damages to the vehicle. The cost of the detail job was included, so I used a company that has great reviews and very expensive prices. The auto detail team filled out a 75 point checklist that included all of the areas they covered during the detail. They even removed my seats to clean out the bottom of the floorboards. By the time I got the car back from the auto detailing shop, it looked brand new and smelled just as clean. I was truly amazed by the custom detail job performed on the car. Of course it was $475, so it should have been clean enough to eat food off of the floor. When I saw the itemized bill and all of the charges for the vehicle cleaning, I was incredibly happy that my girlfriend and I contacted the insurance company to see if they would handle any of the charges. The $475 bill from the auto detailing place was enough to cover our deductible. We also got brand new seats, because all of the upholstery was wet and covered with mildew. Other than the engine and the transmission, we pretty much had a brand new car by the time the insurance company was done.

Proper Attic Insulation Helps Your Roof

It takes more than durable roofing shingles to make your roof perform well.

In order to maximize your roof’s performance and durability, you need a complete roofing system, including ventilation and insulation products.

These elements work together to provide additional comfort and help to extend the life of your roof, save money on heating and cooling costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. By combining attic insulation with a balanced ventilation system, excessive household moisture and heat can be controlled. As a result, the proper conditions and temperature are better maintained in the attic and on the roof deck throughout the year. Without proper ventilation and insulation, heat and moisture that is trapped in the attic can potentially cause significant damage to your roof and home, such as ice dams, premature roofing material failure, wet wood, metal rust, mold, mildew, and interior damage. Heat is transferred from warmer areas to colder areas until the temperature is the same in both places. During the winter, heat travels from heated indoor spaces to adjacent unheated spaces, such as your attic, garage, basement, and even outside in the open air. Insulation works by preventing the flow of heat from transferring from one area to another by providing resistance to the flow of heat. Basically, insulation is what keeps your interior rooms that are heated warm and cozy while preventing heat from escaping to areas that are cooler and unheated. This application works in reverse in the summer months, with insulation helping to control airflow and contain your cooled air. Properly installed attic insulation is good for your roof, your budget, and the planet. Insulating your attic is one of the most effective things you can do to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Top Reasons Your Sewer Line Clogs

The majority of homeowners experience clogged drains at some point in their lives.

  • Clogs can be a pain, but they are typically easy to fix.

If every drain backs up at once, a minor problem can become a major one and you may be dealing with a sewer drain clog. Clogs in sewer drains can be caused by a variety of factors. Tree roots, toilets, garbage disposals, and damaged sewer lines are the most common. Tree roots can grow toward sewer lines as they grow. If your sewer lines are aging, cracked, corroding, or otherwise damaged, tree roots can make their way into these pipes, interrupting the smooth flow of wastewater. Over time, the roots will expand. That can bring dirt into your pipes, but it can also cause a full blockage. Your drains will clog, and you may experience backups when that happens. It is also possible to cause sewer drain problems by treating your toilet like a trash can. Of course, you should avoid flushing foreign objects down your toilet. But did you also know that “flushable” wipes aren’t actually flushable? Other items flushed down the toilet can cause sewer line clogs and major problems! The same goes for your garbage disposal. Drains can clog quickly if you throw everything down your garbage disposal, from grease to leftovers from last night’s dinner. To catch bigger debris, make sure you have a kitchen sink strainer. The sewer line can crack, corrode, sag, and fail over time. A sewer line that is more than 20 to 25 years old is more likely to suffer from these problems. Damaged sewer lines may let dirt and other debris into them, and wastewater can’t flow through them as easily. This can cause clogs and backups in sewer lines.

Getting the Nerve to Talk to a Pretty Lady is a Challenge

Why are we so scared of rejection? I see this pretty lady almost every day as I come and go from my flat but have this fear of talking to her because I am afraid she will reject me.

But if I say nothing then I know that it will haunt me and make me into a more bitter person because I know that my fears are stronger than me.

So I have to get the nerve to say something without sounding like a nervous fool. What do you suggest? Just go up and talk to her, right? The HVAC company where she works is located a couple doors from my flat and I see her sitting outside on the curb with her friend each day. I did get the nerve to say hi to her the other day and she responded with a cheerful hello and a big smile. Maybe I’ll go to the store and buy a HEPA filter or something for my HVAC system that I don’t really need. I guess I just overthink things too much and it leads to a type of paralysis in action. My mom calls it analysis paralysis when you think about something too much and allow it to conquer you. I’ll go to that HVAC company this week and talk to the pretty lady and see what happens. I guess I’ll just ask her if she wants to be friends and not beat around the bush. It’s exactly what I would have done when I was a five year old boy, so why is it so hard to do now?

Quiet Piano Music and Digital Thermostats

I like to listen to quiet piano music while I write about things like digital thermostats and quality HVAC brands.

It helps the time flow by while giving me inspiration to put words on the screen.

I often think about how much I had to work before to live the lifestyle I was living and how much wasted energy and time I spent just trying to get by. I had so much equipment for my HVAC company and so many employees to be accountable for it was a wonder I was able to keep it all going for ten years. That is how long I ran the company before dissolving it and moving on to other bigger and better things. I installed a ton of HVAC systems and met so many good and nice people along the way and I am happy that I got to experience what it was like to run my own business. But now, this simpler way of living fits me better and I am happy because I have a lot more free time in my days to do things that bring me happiness and joy. I still have to work each day, writing about the HVAC industry and HVAC equipment, but I can do so on my own schedule and at my own pace without having to get into a car to go do it. I think that is one positive thing that came out of the Covid situation; more online jobs for people and less cars on the roads each day, which has been a plus for the environment.

My Kittens Love to Eat Yogurt and Kefir

I guess it goes without saying that cats like yogurt and kefir as they are both made from milk.

I give them some every morning when I eat my kefir and I try to give them the fatty part that sits near the top of the container.

My girl cat especially likes it and is always begging for more once she finishes it. The boy cat is more interested in playing with the plastic lid that I put the kefir on to feed them. I got turned onto kefir when my HVAC rep came out one day to replace my washable HEPA filter one day. We were talking about health and the importance of taking probiotics to help with gut health when he told me about kefir. I’m glad I called the HVAC company that day to come out and help me with my HVAC system. I eat yogurt too, but didn’t know that kefir had more strains of probiotics in it, so I put more of it in my diet. I also like to eat sauerkraut because it is one of the most probiotic dense foods in the world. I now replace my washable HEPA filter by myself but still go to that HVAC business to buy them. Before that HVAC rep came out that day I didn’t even know that there was a filter in my HVAC system. How naive I was to think that my HVAC system cleaned the air in my flat without having a filter in it. I just didn’t know then, but at least I know now.
