I hated the sounds and actions of becoming an old man.

• But the way I had treated my body for decades, I was getting old far too young.

That just didn’t sit well with me. At 54, I felt 75. All I did was go from sitting inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office to sitting in the air conditioning in my house feeding my face. I’ve never been much of an athlete so I really had no idea what exercise programs were like. But they seemed like a heck of a lot of work to me. And that just wasn’t my idea of a good time. Yet, if I didn’t change my ways, all that stuff I wanted to do still was off the table. The idea of hobbling or waddling my way around for the rest of my life was no good. So I stared by simply standing at my desk in the zone controlled HVAC. Then, I got out of the air conditioning at lunch and went for a walk. When I got home at night, instead of hitting the recliner in the air conditioning, I went for another walk. Along the way, I changed my diet and cut out the stuff that was making me fat. The next step was actually working out. But I just didn’t like the idea of going to a gym. So I put a gym in my basement. I even called the HVAC company to have them install a ductless heat pump so I would have quality heating and air in my new home gym. I’m a whole new man these days and am actually starting to feel younger than my age thanks to taking better care of myself.

All the details were in place and the room was booked.

It was quite a scene. And I’m the one who thought it all up on his own! So much for not being romantic all these years. It’s true though, I think so much of the responsibilities that went with being an adult sort of blunted my spontaneity and romance. That wasn’t the way it was when my wife and I were younger. But all those years of going to work inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office sort got me in a routine. Then, we had kids and the mortgage. I had to pay for stuff like cars and HVAC maintenance. It was just all adulting all the time. My wife and I were lucky to get out of our central air conditioning just to have a date night every couple of months. So yea, not exactly on my romantic game. But I saw an add for this awesome resort and spa just hours away. And that made me decide to put my romance plan in action. I’d go to my wife’s office and whisk her out of the quality heating and air of that place and off to a long weekend of good food, wine and pampering. All the details were in place and the room was booked. It was a room that even had a sunroom with a ductless heat pump in it and a hot tub. I squared things with my wife’s boss so it could be a surprise. And then, I did exactly what I wanted to do which was whisk her right out of that office with the zone controlled HVAC.

It really was a problem that we were trying our best to figure out.

But the answers were challenging.

The fact is, we had one more kid than we have bedrooms in our home. That so wasn’t the plan when we bought that house. Yet, we were surprised with our youngest son. That happens in life. Still, we bough this house, replaced the HVAC unit and renovated the kitchen thinking that we’d be here til the kids were out of the house. And we love this house. But the brothers sharing a room just wasn’t working. Honestly, it really isn’t on the kids. They did the best they could to make those living arrangements work. Yet, my oldest son sticks to hitting the books inside the air conditioning as he is passionate about his education and getting into a good school. And that is so fine with me because it looks like he’ll get a full ride to college and that is a dream come true for us. But that left the youngest one with nowhere he could just be. Finally, we decided that moving was out of the question so we added a master bedroom suite. It’s awesome and even came with its own ductless heat pump. That room is like being on vacation every, single day. We even have our own bathroom and it has a space heater to warm things up on those cold winter mornings. There is the added bonus of all the value that this new room with it’s own quality heating and air adds to our home.

I just got back from going to see my relatives up north, plus when I walked through the door of my home, I noticed that it felt cooler in the home than usual. I almost did not notice, just because I had stayed up north with my family for awhile, plus you easily start getting used to the cold there. However, I am quite sensitive to temperature plus so because of this I knew this was not the normal temperature of my home. I didn’t leave my gas furnace system on, plus so I figured once I turned my heating component on, my home would be hot again. I thought that would be the end of the issue, however it wasn’t. I fiddled with the temperature control, plus tried to turn the heating unit on, however for some reason it wasn’t responding. It was a sinking feeling I got, a feeling that meant that the HVAC unit stopped working, plus that repairing it might be extravagant. I might as well not delay the inevitable, plus so I called for professional help. When the HVAC tech arrived, he went straight to labor on the gas furnace unit. I am consistently nervous for appointments like these, because all I can see is lots of dollar signs in the air. However, the air conditioner worker had the furnace back up plus running within 10 minutes, plus the repair cost was minor. I was relieved. Not only to have the gas furnace working again, however that it wasn’t luxurious either. It turns out the heating component just needed to be restarted, plus then it was working again.

My daughter came plus complained to myself and others about her room feeling pretty cold.

That was weird, because in my room it felt hot plus cozy.

So I followed her to her room, plus to my surprise, it was just as she stated, it was quite cold in there. What was causing this temperature difference? As I walked throughout the home, I noticed there were quite a few spots in the home that felt at a strange temperature. I looked at my temperature control, plus it was a few degrees lower than normal. I turned it up plus thought that would be the end of things, and however, later I noticed the home felt hot. I looked at the temperature control, plus it was well over 78 degrees! Somehow it was no longer on the temperature settings I put it on, plus the temperature reading was completely crazy! It wasn’t hard to figure out that the temperature control was likely the issue. But to make sure, I called a HVAC company plus asked for their advice. They told myself and others it sounded like the temperature control was going bad, plus I should order a new one. I did exactly that, plus I bought a nice new plus new smart temperature control. The new smart temperature control came right off of the HVAC corporation’s website, plus I knew it would legitimately take a month or so to get here. However, to my surprise, the temperature control was here within a few days, after careful installation of the new temperature control, the temperature returned back to normal, and problem solved.

It is never a fantastic sign when you have tepid or cold spots in your home.

• Or in my case, a room that is a strange temperature from the entire home.

I walked through the door to my study room numerous times plus it was consistently the same… My entire home was cool, however my room felt stuffy plus hot. Naturally, you can legitimately understand why this has been affecting my sleep quality as well. I find myself waking up more plus more plus the quality of my sleep decreasing. The thing is, I have dealt with temperature differences in rooms before, however this time it somehow seemed different. In the past the culprit would be having the window open plus letting too much daylight in. Or having temperature control issues. But I had recently just replaced the temperature control with a smart temperature control, plus the room in question doesn’t even have windows. So why is my room so tepid all of the time? One of the key things to look at in this situation is the , since it is what heats plus cools the home. I already knew my cooling system component worked fine. So I grabbed my ladder plus looked at all of the air vents next. Once I looked at all of the other air vents versus the one in my room, the problem became clear. Somehow, my room’s cooling system vents were half closed. They weren’t even fully open! I made sure to fully pry them open, plus was blasted in the face with air conditioner. The hot room issue went away, plus my sleeping quality increased as well.

When I stepped out of our car, I did not expect to step directly into a puddle.

I was confused.

It had not rained in a nice long while, so where did this water come from? I followed the water trail plus it led to the a/c program which I saw was slowly dripping water. After mopping up the puddle, I decided that it would be a nice idea to call the heating plus cooling supplier close to me. Thankfully, the contractor was not tied up at all, plus was able to send out a Heating plus A/C specialist the same day. A few hours later, the Heating plus A/C worker arrived to look at the issue. Apparently leaking a/c units is not exactly uncommon. The cause? A clogged air filter. Apparently you are supposed to replace the air filter every 2 months or so. You might have to replace them more though if you have pets or anything else that can dirty your air filter suddenly. I am ashamed to say that I really only replaced our HEPA air filter every 6 months or so, so it makes sense as to why I would experience this problem. After the heating plus cooling serviceman put in a current filter plus repaired the Heating plus A/C machine, the leaking stopped. I will legitimately have to make sure I replace those air filters more often, because I have had many troubles with the cooling unit plus I bet that is why. I decided to go ahead plus buy air filters from the Heating plus A/C corporation’s website, so that way I will be able to replace it again in 2 months.
