I thought I would always be ahead of our automobile maintenance, even though I was wrong. A few weeks ago, I started noticing a foul smell whenever I got into the car. I thought it was body smell at first, but then I realized that it was the interior of the car. I looked under all the seats and checked all the cracks, though I couldn’t find the source of the aroma. I hardly kept anything in the automobile anyway, so I was particular it wasn’t something I was responsible for. I took it to the shop and mentioned the smell and they decided to look around, but they came back a few hours later and told me that the air filter was in terrible shape. They even showed me the air filter and I could see for myself that it was covered with dust and debris. The dust was a deep black color and it was hanging off the filter in chunks. The mechanic told me that it needed to be upgraded because I was breathing this in! With a new air filter, it took an afternoon or so for the air to clear up, but it finally did and I was grateful.

I was on hold for awhile
I was supposed to get my smart thermostat today, but sadly it didn’t arrive.
I was a bit frustrated because the place I bought it from, the local cooling company, guaranteed that it would arrive in 3 days.
Well, it’s day number 3 and no sign of the smart thermostat. I decided to call the heating and A/C business and see what was going on. I called and was almost immediately placed on hold. After a few minutes of being on hold, I was beginning to feel quite impatient. Finally, after 10 minutes someone finally answered. By that point, I was pretty unhappy. I was planning on complaining, however, the lady that answered was super nice, and so I held my tongue. Apparently they were incredibly busy right then, and had many callers. After I explained the issue, she apologized immediately and looked into the problem for me. It seemed there were some weather delays and the package was stuck in a nearby city. The weather delay is obviously not their fault, but the A/C corporation still apologized anyway. I was given a discount on my next purchase as well, which was incredibly nice. However, the most touching part is I received a letter from them, apologizing to me one more time and hoping that I am happy with the smart thermostat. This is such a sweet gesture, and it was nice to know they cared so much. The smart thermostat arrived the next day and it worked perfectly. I am thinking about using that discount towards an air purifier, but we’ll see.
HVAC email predicted the future
I have noticed an increase in the amount of emails I have been getting from the air conditioning business local to me.
I don’t mind getting emails from them, I find them informative and it keeps me up to date on things.
Especially since they sometimes will have sales. Usually though, the emails are just talking about recent changes they are having or what products are in the spotlight for that week. I usually get these emails once per week, but lately it has been closer to daily. However, I did get one email that was a bit different from the others. The email told me that I would have a refrigerant problem soon. I thought that was weird and moved on. However, only a couple of weeks later, I noticed my A/C wasn’t blowing cool air anymore. The air was moderate, instead of ice cold. I called the HVAC business, because I originally worried that there was something wrong with the heating and A/C unit. However, when the A/C technician came out, he simply told me that all I needed was for the refrigerant to be refilled. It was then that I remembered that email and was a little bit freaked out. I asked the HVAC professional to see if he knew anything, but he was just as clueless as I was. Once the refrigerant was refilled the air was ice cold again and the HVAC worker left soon after. Most likely, it was just a coincidence with the HVAC system, but that is some weird timing.

I could tell that I was dreaming, from the hazy look of everything. Just as I realized this, I could feel there was a disturbance in the background. As I came to, I realized what was interrupting my peaceful sleep. The A/C was short cycling again. On, off, on and off. I got up and turned the HVAC machine off, and fell back asleep for a little while. When I woke up, I was covered in sweat because of the lack of A/C. I turned the air conditioner back on, hoping for the issue to have gone away, but it didn’t. The cooling unit stayed on for 5 minutes before it turned off again. This has become my reality ever since I bought an air conditioning system online. Like a fool, I didn’t do my research ahead of time, and I am paying the consequences because of it. The HVAC unit I bought is too large for my home, and so it causes it to short cycle all of the time. I know that this is an issue that I will have to have a professional heating and cooling worker take care of, but I have just been procrastinating for as long as possible. I have been spending a lot of time at my friend’s place to avoid my air conditioning issue, but I know that I am going to have to face it eventually.
