When I went to visit my friend’s house for the first time, I couldn’t believe how comfortable it was inside.

We both live in the city, which means rent is high and apartments are small and stuffy.

Her apartment was small as I expected, but she had it designed so beautifully and it felt much bigger than it actually was. Besides the size though, I noticed how great the air quality was. Living in the city means a lot of air pollution and odors, but her apartment air was clean and fresh. It felt like I was walking into an entirely separate world when I walked through the door. I asked her about the air, and she commented that nobody had ever picked up on it before. She said the landlord had actually replaced the entire HVAC system a year prior and the air vents were replaced four times per year. This was abnormal for a lot of landlords in the city because most of them didn’t care enough. My friend also said that she invested in a portable air purifier. Thankfully the apartment was small, so she only needed one air purifier. The air purifier was mighty though because the air quality was impeccable. It was so good that I began thinking about investing in the same air purifier. I wasn’t sure if it was worth it though because I didn’t have a landlord who took as great of care of the HVAC system. However, this was also a strong reason to buy one as well!

My dad was always a stickler about the HVAC system at our house! I’m not sure why though, perhaps he had a bad experience that I’m unaware of, but he was always insistent about having the HVAC system looked at, twice per year, every fall and springtime, an HVAC serviceman would come to our home and tune the air conditioning system! A new air filter would be put in and my dad would spend at least one Friday a week cleaning the condenser unit outside.

Seeing this all my life, I grew up to be the same, but when I purchased my first house, I understood the importance of taking care of an air conditioning system.

This is why I purchased a home that had a brand new heating system already installed, my care for a heating and air conditioning system didn’t stop at simply having the system tuned twice per year though. I was also adamant about using the same air filters that my dad used. They’d always worked well for his home, so I knew they would work well for mine. The only thing I needed to change was the size because my a/c was a different size. When I hired a heating and air conditioning business to repair the air conditioning system for the first time, he was impressed by my air conditioning knowledge, and he especially couldn’t believe that I was so adamant about caring for my heating and air conditioning system at my age. I took pride in this and I’m proud to say that my dad taught me well.

I’ve been driving the same automobile for two years.

When I first got the car, I leased it for numerous years.

During this time, I had it serviced as needed and I took genuinely good care of it. When I decided to purchase the automobile though, I was even more diligent about taking care of it because it was now completely in my ownership. I took it to the shop before the lights ever came on and I did my best to protect it from any unwanted situations. I thought I would always be ahead of my automobile maintenance, although I was wrong, a few weeks ago, I started noticing a foul smell whenever I got into the car. I thought it was body odor at first, but then I abruptly realized that it was the interior of the car. I looked under all the seats and all the cracks, although I couldn’t find the source of the stink. I hardly kept anything in the automobile anyway, so I was certain it wasn’t something I was responsible for. I took it to the shop and mentioned the smell and they decided to look around, but they came back a few hours later and told me that the air filter was in awful shape. They even showed me the air filter and I could see for myself that it was covered with dust and debris. The dust was a deep black color and it was hanging off the filter in chunks. The mechanic told me that it needed to be upgraded because I was breathing this in! With a new air filter, it took a day or so for the air to clear up, but it finally did and I was grateful.
