We once went away for vacation only to return home to find that our HVAC system had died while we were gone and the heat had killed all the houseplants while we were gone

While surfing the internet the other day I found myself distracted by the ads that kept scrolling in the sidebar. I was trying to find a new vacation spot for the family camping trip but all I kept seeing were ads for new HVAC systems. It is that time of year where flowers are starting to pop up, leaves are emerging, and the world is thawing after a long cold winter. Many companies in the area are trying to sell new HVAC units and upgraded air conditioning systems in preparation for the upcoming Summer. I think someone was trying to tell me something because I also got an email reminder for my annual system check up for the HVAC system in my house. I finally gave up on my vacation search and starting looking at some of the ads. There were some really good deals out there on upgrades and new HVAC equipment. I called a couple of the local companies to get some estimates and I may end up deciding to pay for a new system. At least if I upgrade we can have a fully programmable system that we can control when we are away on our annual vacation. It will definitely make going away easier in that respect too. Having the peace of mind that our home is safe and secure as well as perfectly climate controlled will be a great thing. My dad got a phone call the other day from an old High School buddy and the guy invited our family up to his cabin for a week this summer.

I guess it is in an area where they used to hang out years ago and my dad is really excited about going.

He has told us stories about his friends and all the adventures they had growing up and I am sure that he feels like revisiting his youth will make him feel the same way again. He said that there is a beautiful lake, hiking trails, fishing, and more that we can take advantage of while we are there. Now, I am not the outdoorsy type so this may not be the best idea for me but I will try and make the best of it. I only hope that there will be some sort of indoor activities too. My idea of a vacation involves hotel rooms, swimming pools, and shopping. Of course, they also involve having quality heating and cooling at my fingertips. At least if there is some sort of climate controlled retreat from all the outdoor fun, I can survive the whole cabin thing. Dealing with hot sunny days without being able to have a cool retreat would be miserable. Dad can enjoy hanging out with his old school buddy and reminiscing about the, “good old days”, and we can make some great family memories. I am willing to make the sacrifice and put on a happy face so long as I am comfortable. Who knows, maybe I can be converted into a somewhat outdoors person.

I have been told that I am a hoarder; I’m not as awful as the people on that one TV show, but I like to keep things that are affectionate to me. I feel it’s tplot because my home isn’t as updated as I would like it to be, then a lot of my friends don’t come over anymore because it’s not a cool arena to hang out at. I feel I could update my home a little bit. But it does its task. I have a roof over my house, a bed plus a kitchen with an older TV. I could get one of those new smart TV’s that are legitimately thin. I just don’t see myself spending a lot of money though right now on it; However I do need to get a new HVAC system. I called my HVAC provider to come to my home plus do their periodical checks. I asked my serviceman if I needed to update my system since it’s about ten years old. He said that it wasn’t necessary to do it this year because it still functions officially. He proposed replacing it in about two more years. In the mean time he told me that I could install an optimizer control to make my existing HVAC system operate more efficiently until I get a new one. It adds specialized microprocessor controls to optimize performance… Once I update my seasoned HVAC system I can use the optimizer on my new HVAC system to have it run even more efficiently.

Retirement is not exactly how I envisioned it, it is better, however my husband plus I both worked for so multiple years plus raised our children so my buddy and I decided that it was easily time to experience the life my buddy and I always wanted.

Being strapped to the same dead end task for thirty plus years taught us to cherish every moment my buddy and I have left together.

The kids guess that my buddy and I are a bit nuts but my buddy and I decided to sell the home that my buddy and I lived in for all those years plus buy a giant boat to travel the cost. We have challenges at times finding locales to dock especially during holiday weekends. On those openings my buddy and I need to anchor out plus unfortunately the weather is not always cooperative. We have been out off the coast plus the temperatures have been less than ideal. We had a few times when it was chilly chilly plus my buddy and I did not have any sort of heat aboard the boat. During the pleasant months it was great plus my buddy and I tried to travel North in the Summer plus South in the winter but my buddy and I were still caught off guard at times. I easily wish my buddy and I had an Heating & A/C system on board so my buddy and I could go where my buddy and I want when my buddy and I want. I have been studying about some systems that are safe to have aboard plus easily guess that my buddy and I need to talk to an Heating & A/C contractor at one of the ports to look into having one installed. What great is it to live a life travelling on our boat if my buddy and I can’t be comfortable where my buddy and I are. I have even been tempted to get a hotel room at some ports just to be comfortable for the night plus that just doesn’t make sense. I care about our retired life plus don’t want anything to change, except the temperature control on our boat.

Mom plus Mom have planned a trip to go plus see my Grandparents over the Holidays.

I am looking forward to seeing them but wish that they were coming here instead.

I dread going to their cabin because it is always sweltering hot. I never want to say anything because I don’t want to make them unhappy but they keep their home plus nearly eighty degrees. You head in from minus thirty plus feel like you stepped into a sauna. I can’t sleep at night because it is so moderate plus I have even been known to open my window to let in the chilly air; The one time when my mom came into my room while my buddy and I were visiting plus realize that I opened the window he was miserable with me because I was wasting energy but then he realized that I may have needed the chilly air just to feel comfortable, and he tried to explain to me that as you get older your overall temperature changes plus multiple older people need the extra moderate in the winter to not feel achy. I’m sure I will understand this more as an adult but for now I just wish with a would come plus see us instead plus my buddy and I could just keep their room warmer! We even obtained a separate Heating & A/C unit for the guest room for just this purpose plus the rest of us remain comfortable while they can keep moderate too. The mini split unit in that room can heat or cool it to whatever temperature they want plus is even controlled by a remote. I hope next year they come to us instead.
