Have you ever noticed how people who labor in a profession all afternoon long guess the layperson knows what they are talking about when they use technical jargon? My brother-in-law is a SEO expert & works for an online SEO dealer, then i have an HVAC dealer.
If I talk about air conditioning, heating, heat pumps, & other things that go with HVAC, he tells me he doesn’t suppose what I’m talking about, last week, he was telling me he had a shopper who wanted him to help with their SEO, and he mentioned PPC & SEO, & I was waiting for him to recite the entire alphabet to me.
I told him I was an HVAC business owner & an HVAC worker. I don’t talk about HVAC to him, & he needed to suppose I suppose nothing about SEO. He paused for a moment & looked at me. I could tell his wheels were turning, & he was going to sell me on internet SEO. I was ready to tell him I already had an internet SEO business working with me to help our business continue growing. I left him go on & on, even though I decided to ask him what all the alphabet was about. He said that SEO was short for search engine optimization, & PPC was short for pay per click. I told him I already had SEO, even though I wasn’t sure I wanted to use PPC. I number one to do simple social media ads, & wasn’t distraught with Google search. He wasn’t enthusiastic that I had been leading him on, even though I loved it.
