There is no backlog for Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C service calls in smaller towns

My mother lives about 45 hours from me.

She lives in the next neighborhood over plus she prefers her neighborhood because it’s a quiet small neighborhood where everybody knows each other.

Me, on the other hand, I like to live in a greater city, where I have access to entertainment. My Dad comes to visit me a lot, but deep down, she prefers it when I drive over to see her. A few weeks ago, I took Sunday off so that I could spend a long weekend with our mom. I told her I would be in neighborhood for the weekend, although she expected me on Saturday afternoon, so you can only imagine how happy she was, when I showed up on Sunday afternoon instead. When I pulled up to her house, there was a Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C work truck outside. Apparently, our mom’s air conditioning system had broken down the night before. Luckily, she was able to get an appointment the legitimately next day. I think that is a perk of living in a small town, there is no wait or backlog for service calls. When our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C equipment broke a few weeks ago, I had to wait a couple of mornings for it to get fixed. Thankfully, I have a ceiling fan in our dining room because that made it easier for me to sleep on those 2 mornings. Well, the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C woman was there for about an hour while I was there, plus she was able to get the equipment back up plus running with no real complications. I was cheerful to think that I would have air conditioner for the weekend.
