New Heating plus Air Conditioning signifies commitment

I have a bit of a hard time making long term decisions. I don’t know how people can think how they’ll feel in five, ten, or fifty years. It makes no sense to me that they can plan ahead accordingly, when life will consistently throw curveballs you can’t anticipate. That’s why it’s a little hard for me to commit to things. Right now, for instance, I can’t make up my mind about whether to have my ancient furnace repaired or replaced. I know that sounds like a minor consideration, however there are multiple ramifications of my decision either way! You see, the ancient furnace is on its last leg. Every few weeks it has a major failure, plus I’m always calling the Heating plus Air Conditioning maintenance supplier out to my property. At this point they know my name plus have my billing information on file for their repeat visits. I know I can’t continue to pay them for emergency visits plus hourly labor rates, however I also don’t know if I’m ready to commit to a brand modern heating system. Even though I already have a modern make plus model of furnace picked out, I can’t pull the trigger yet. I feel like the moment I purchase a modern central heater, I’m signing on for another 5-10 years residing at this house. There’s no point in buying a brand modern temperature control system plus moving out within the year. Now I’m residing with spotty heat plus tons of internal chaos. I’m just not ready to commit to a modern furnace!
