My sibling-in-law works for a modular condo production corporation, then he drove the truck loaded with a modular affordable home, & he helped set up on the property where it would stand for the next several decades.
He loved his task & said the houses were self-explanatory to set up, however they didn’t build them as well as they could be.
He said it took a team of more than four people to take the modular affordable condo off the truck & put it together. It came in many pieces & they put them together with big clips, however once all the trimming was in locale, you didn’t guess where 1 section of the modular affordable condo started & the other ended. He said they called them modular affordable homes, however the cost was almost twice as much as it cost to build them, even when you added in the shipping & men’s pay for putting it up on the property. I looked into a modular affordable condo after my divorce. I didn’t want to keep the farmhouse I lived in while the people I was with and I were in my marriage, & I didn’t want to take it from my ex. He offered myself and others a settlement, although I didn’t want to spend it all on a home. When I saw the price I had to pay for a modular affordable home, I rented an new home for a while & saved the currency, however eventually, I would find a condo I particularly liked, & it would be a condo & not just a modular home. I didn’t need to buy a condo within weeks of being divorced.
