Lost Thermostat Connection

Last week, my air conditioning stopped working. I was going about my day as I normally would and I realized that my house was feeling warm. I went to the thermostat to change the temperature when I realized that the inside of my house was five degrees warmer than what it was set to. This didn’t seem right, but I lowered the temperature by one more degree to see if it would do anything. It didn’t, and I began to grow concerned. After waiting for an hour for my air conditioner to power on and cool my house, I decided to call the HVAC company. I needed someone to come out right away because it was getting hotter and hotter in my house. The HVAC professional arrived within a few hours and he immediately went to my thermostat. He took the thermostat off the wall and immediately began fidgeting with the wires. After what seemed like an eternity, he came back to me and said that my air conditioner was cooling the house again. The HVAC professional had to rewire something with the thermostat because the connection that signaled my air conditioner to run was lost. When the connection was lost, there was no way for my thermostat to communicate with the blower fans. It was a simple fix for him and I was glad. I was so worried that I’d have to pay a lot of money or relocate until my AC system could be repaired. My air conditioner was up and running again within a few hours.
