I was grateful for the energy saving tips

Life always has ups and downs, right? When delighting in the ups, don’t forget it’s not all rosy.

This is something my wise old grandma used to say to me alot.

She lived until she was 99 and had seen it all. She was a part of the movement for change and always chased her dreams. I always wanted to be like her, living my best life each day no matter what. At the end of 2019, life was looking bright, but 2020 turned out to be the worst. After losing my job, I cut back on expenses, including heating and cooling my house. The air conditioning was taking up too much of my monthly expenses. This meant I had to find ways to ensure the central heating and cooling unit was effective. In the middle of a pandemic, it was tough to find an AC expert to come to evaluate my unit. I took the risk of using the central cooling unit that summer without having an AC expert evaluate it first. Luckily, my HVAC repair and service company offered online consultations to their clients. I got to speak with my usual AC expert about lowering energy consumption and saving some money. She was so helpful and gave me some energy-saving tips. First, she insisted on always having the blinds drawn during the day. That way, the house was always cool, and I didn’t have to adjust the cooling unit. Next, she took me through how to change an air filter. This was crucial if I was going to use the cooling unit all summer while stuck in the house.
