When I called the owner of the lake house I lived in, it was to tell him the furnace had broken… He said he would get an Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor to the home as soon as possible.
- It was getting colder by the hour, and I was considering going to our friend’s home until the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contractor could arrive.
It was only several degrees out, and I knew I could not stay here much longer. I was sitting in the residing room wrapped up in a blanket when the owner of the home called. He asked if I had a space heater. I didn’t have 1 and he said he had multiple. I asked if I could use 1 of his space heaters. He said he called to offer them to me if I wanted. It wasn’t our fault the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C plan had broken down, and I shouldn’t be suffering. His wifey was in the background and I could hear her telling him to give her the PC, and when she got the PC out of his hands, she asked if I wanted to come to their home instead of staying there with space heaters. The Heating, Ventilation, and A/C company could not get a contractor to the home for about forty-eight hours. She anxious the pipes may freeze, and even though her partner had heat tapes on the pipes, it was still a option. I thanked her, however I told them I would go to our friend’s home and stay warm. She sounded infuriated that she could not do more for me, however I had to take care of myself.
