Getting my post retirement life on with plenty of HVAC

So I found out pretty quickly that retirement really was going to happen.

  • As I hit the last six months before retirement, the reality of not working began to set in.

I was going to leave my office with the zone controlled HVAC for good. Someone else would be setting the thermostat in that office. Those were the things that really started hitting home. And of course, we were selling the house and moving south. That too was a very big deal as well. My wife was coordinating all of that pretty much as she had retired a year earlier. I had worked to get the HVAC company to put in the new residential HVAC. We did some upgrades in order to get the most out of our house. Plus, it was time. That old HVAC really went a long time and gave us great quality heating and air. The next thing I know, I’m walking out of the office with a box of my stuff and it was over. We sold the house and moved about 2 months later. It was sort of nice to be able to get my feet under me after retiring with that incredible residential HVAC. The new upgrade is the latest in residential HVAC with all kinds of HVAC technology. There is zone controlled HVAC as well as a smart thermostat to run the whole thing. Now we are down south and I’m experiencing my first summer down here. And thank goodness we have the best heat pump we could buy because I’m really leaning into the HVAC cooling. The heat and humidity are going to take a bit to get accustomed to so I’m going to let myself have all the air conditioning I want this summer.
