Mama did the best she could for us, however to provide for so many, she had to work several odd tasks.
Every one of us were latch-key youngsters, as the expression goes, and as the oldest I had to look out for our brother and sister. I won’t say it was an easy childhood, however we loved each other, and Mama undoubtedly did try her best, we were just more than she could handle. Money was so tight, even with several tasks, that we had certainly few creature comforts. One time our air conditioner broke down, and she told us there simply wasn’t enough currency to get it fixed. I decided to go to the public library the next afternoon and do some research about air conditioners. As advantage would have it, they carried several odd manuals about the service and repair of Heating and A/C systems, so I dug through them and found the one that looked most enjoy ours. I spent the entire month pouring through that Heating and A/C manual, comparing it to our cabin system, and trying to figure out what I should do. I was terrified that I would make things worse, however then I remembered that the air conditioner was already dead, and I couldn’t cut it any worse than it was. I gave it a shot, took the air conditioning system equipment apart, and did our best to fix it, however did it work? No, anxious to say this story doesn’t have a thrilled ending, and we spent the whole summer time with no air conditioner.
