I was on spring break from school, and though I was happy there were no classes and school to attend, I was broke.
I needed to earn money while on vacation. I talked to my parent about it, and she agreed to help and ask her friend for a spring internship. I was studying to become an air conditioning technician. I had always been interested in the cooling industry because of my dad. Though we had done a lot of theory as we learned more about air conditioning, I wished I could do some practicals to practice my skills. My father was the local air conditioning provider in town and was very conversant on all matters related to HVAC maintenance and quality HVAC equipment. The following week, my father came to me and requested I accompany him to the neighbor’s house the next day to provide quality air conditioner service. I was thrilled at the opportunity as it would allow me to practice my skills on an actual system. He improvised the a/c care program that my father followed. As the air conditioning technician in charge, I watched as dad worked on the multi-split air conditioning system. It was such an exhilarating experience for me to be working alongside a seasoned a/c serviceman. My confidence in my skills grew significantly, and I was even more eager to join the air conditioning company. When we were done, the air quality improved, and the air purifier was functioning perfectly. I could not wait to get home and tell my mum about it. I spent the rest of my break accompanying dad on offsite jobs. I even helped him install a thermostat while his team worked on the HVAC installation.
