I walked into a lovely coffee shop with hundreds of butterflies fluttering in my stomach.
I was nervous because I was here for a blind date.
The conversation with my date turned out to be lively; my date, Tom, told me he worked as an air conditioning technician and owned an air conditioning company. He even commented on the digital thermostat near the service area, which I had not noticed before, saying it was a very efficient temperature control model. As we had our coffee, I asked him what funny things he encountered in his work. He told me that sometime the previous week, a lady had called saying she needed her HVAC installation checked because it was so loud it could wake the dead. The lady sounded so frustrated that he pitied her. He sent an a/c serviceman to go to her house for HVAC maintenance to decipher the problem with the quality HVAC equipment. When he finished, he discovered that the multi-split air conditioning had some loose parts making the noise, so he conducted an air conditioning repair. The lady was so impressed by the services that she called the air conditioning provider a week later to commend them on their job and also inquired about the cost of a new quality air conditioner that would improve air quality and help with indoor comfort at her friend’s house. She talked about her brother, who was also working in the cooling industry, and how he had taught her more about air conditioning. At this point, I was in hysterics because he unknowingly described my encounter with him. Hearing someone else tell the ordeal was so funny, and when I finally stopped laughing, I let him in on the joke.
