My husband and I decided to move across the world to live in a different country.
We’d visited this country before in the past and we really enjoyed the culture, so when a job opportunity presented itself we jumped at the opportunity.
While searching for an apartment, we knew that we needed something with a good HVAC system and something to purify the air. Air pollution was a major problem in the city we were moving to, along with the hot and humid temperatures during the summer. When we found an apartment that we were really interested in, we were told that there was heat and air, but it was through a ductless mini split unit. Unlike where we lived before, ductless mini split units were the main source of heat and air for apartments in our new city. Central HVAC systems were almost non-existent and would be impossible to find according to our realtor. We were hesitant about the ductless mini split units because we didn’t know how well they’d heat and cool our space. We thought they’d be inconsistent and the temperature would only be changed for the air directly surrounding the ductless unit. Upon moving in though, we realized the ductless system was wonderful. The entire apartment was heated and cooled efficiently and evenly. They didn’t make a lot of noise and they were practically invisible after living with them for some time. I’m glad we didn’t miss out on this apartment because of the ductless mini split units.
