Changing to a central air conditioner

I live in the northeastern area of the country, where the weather is most often cold, wet plus windy.

Both of us deal with temperatures down to twenty-multiple below zero, brutal wind chill plus feet of snow can fall overnight.

The gas furnace runs for approximately numerous months of the year. Central a/c isn’t a necessity. Both of us frequently suffer through cold plus rainy summers; However, the two of us also have seasons where the heat plus humidity are excruciating, but for quite a few years, I was satisfied with window air conditioners in the dining rooms. I liked opening plus windows plus welcoming in a fresh breeze. It made sense to air out the apartment after keeping it sealed tight while I was in the fall plus winter. When it was time to update our gas furnace, the Heating, Ventilation & A/C company recommended upgrading to central a/c. He said that installing both units at the same time was best for peak efficiency. The only reason I was interested was because of a special offer from the Heating, Ventilation & A/C supplier plus a rebate from the manufacturer. The cost of adding central a/c was negligible. The improvement to the comfort of the apartment has been pressing. It is such a relief not to haul the window air conditioners down from the attic every Spring. I don’t need to sacrifice the view from the windows plus every room in the apartment is perfectly cool. I tend to run the air conditioner even when the weather is mild. I use the fan to circulate the air. It works to filter out contaminants plus keep the apartment stinking fresh. Because of the air conditioner, I don’t need to scrub as often plus there are fewer issues with mold plus mildew growth.
