This Winter I am Going to Really Practice Drums a Lot
I was saying that my city becomes a ghost town in the winter and this winter I am going to focus on improving my drum skills so that next year I can play in the clubs and make some money.
My friend plays guitar and we sing and play in the streets now but I need to improve my drumming more so that we can do it for a living.
I am working at the local business now selling HVAC systems and working on HVAC equipment and will keep working there even when I am playing music in clubs. I think I need a couple more years of practice with drumming till I am able to do it full time. It would be great to play in air conditioned clubs in the summer when the places are packed with tourists. I think we have a few clubs now that will have us play in the winter but it is only maybe three places. I hope they all have heating inside because some of them don’t and it is just way too cold on my hands to drum when the rooms are ice cold. We can have many days below freezing during the winter so having good heating in a club is a must. I guess I could always bring a small space heater with me if the club has no heating but it would be tough to bring that along with all of my sound equipment. I guess everything will work out in the end so there is no use worrying about it now.

I have a good system for my knees and it is helping them heal very quickly when I am playing a lot of ball like I have been this summer.
After I play, I come home and ice my knees with a couple bags of frozen peas and then I heat them up with a couple bags of hot water. It really helps them recover fast when you use both cold and heat on them. If you have knee pain I suggest giving it a try, or any kind of joint pain for that matter. Also, my HVAC pro friend told me that he cut out all sugar and a lot of the joint pain he had is now gone. He told me his knees were hurting so bad that he had to take a few weeks off of work because he just couldn’t handle the pain. He was doing HVAC equipment installs and had to carry heat pumps and AC units up a lot of stairs and his knees were so bad that he could no longer do it. He said after stopping sugar and doing the hot and cold cycle therapy on the knees for a couple of weeks they were much better and he was able to start working again. I am doing the same thing on my knees because of too much volleyball and they are already feeling a lot better after two weeks of the therapy. I cut out all the sugar too and it is helping a lot. Summer is dwindling down to just a few weeks left now as we enter the end of August soon.
A lot of the people in my small town are here just for the summer season and then they head back to their hometowns to continue their lives elsewhere.
It has been a fun summer so far and I am looking forward to cooler temps and my cold water dips. It is going to take a few months till the sea cools down enough where it has beneficial effects on my body. I like cooling down in the water in the morning and coming home and warming up with a hot bath and a space heater in my bathroom. The cold water dips really wake me up and recharge my spirit unlike nothing else. Coffee doesn’t hold a candle to how 55F cold water can wake you up. The HVAC company near me has a cold water bath in the summers but they are closed for a few months because the owner is out of the country so I can’t use their bath right now. It would be great to take a cold water dip in their bath when the weather is so hot out but it won’t be happening anytime soon. I will just keep taking my cold showers and stay cool with my air conditioning till the owner comes back or the weather starts to cool down so I can do my sea dips again. I’m not sure when the owner is coming back but I think it is in a month or so.
