The HVAC installation is going to take all day

Whenever there is a replacement that includes a heat pump and an air conditioning system, I tell the customer that it is going to take all day.

Most of the time it takes around 6 to 8 hours to install a heat pump and an air conditioning system and that is if there are no troubles at all during the replacement.

There are still customers that will ask how long it’s going to take when I arrive. I know that the office calls our customers the day before and reminds them that it’s going to take all day. I had a customer that was having a heat pump and air conditioning system installed last Tuesday. We started the replacement around 9:00 a.m. I wanted to begin installing the machine at 7:00, but the customer said that was too early. When we started at 9:00, the man wanted to know if we were going to be done by lunch. I laughed, although he wasn’t joking around. I told the customer that we might not even be done prepping the area until lunch time. I reminded him that it was going to take us at least 6 or 8 hours. After looking around at all of the machines and the area that we needed to work in, I told the customer that it was unquestionably going to take 8 hours. He had a sour look on his face. He disappeared into the house and I did not see him again until later that day. My crew and I stopped to have lunch at 2:00. He looked at me like I was stealing from the money register.
